Steps to Replace the Toyota Corolla's Battery
Step 1: Safety first
Put on your safety glasses and gloves. This protects your hands and eyes from battery acid.
Step 2: Locate the old battery
Open the vehicle's hood and locate the battery. It's typically on one side of the engine compartment.
Step 3: Disconnect the battery
Remove the battery's terminal covers. Use a wrench to disconnect the negative/ground cable first, followed by the positive cable.
Step 4: Remove the old battery
Loosen the battery clamp with your wrench set and carefully remove the old battery.
Step 5: Clean the connectors
Clean both the positive and negative terminal connectors with battery cleaning solution and a wire brush. Apply anti-corrosion solution once clean.
Step 6: Install new battery
Place the new battery into the battery's tray, making sure it is facing the correct way. Tighten the battery clamp to keep it in place.
Step 7: Reconnect the battery
Connect the positive cable to the positive terminal first, then the negative cable to the negative terminal. Depending on the model, you may also have a battery sensor to reconnect.
Step 8: Test the installation
Start the vehicle's engine to ensure the new battery is working. Check if all the lights and functions of the vehicle are in proper working condition.
Now you have successfully replaced your vehicle's battery. If the vehicle still does not start normally or you feel uncomfortable performing this task, consult a professional technician.
